Meet Amir
Meet Amir
Amir, a 16-year-old from Newark’s South Ward, who had faced unimaginable trauma.
Grief and gun violence had torn his family apart—his father and best friend were killed, his mother was wounded, and Amir himself became a victim, leaving him with both physical and emotional scars.
Struggling with the weight of loss, Amir withdrew from school and isolated himself. His mother pleaded for someone to “save Amir’s story.”
Then, Amir joined our Virtual Story Lab, where he found the tools and mentorship to express his pain through storytelling. He created a short film about his journey, regaining his confidence and discovering a new sense of purpose.
Your donation will give young men like Amir the tools they need to transform their lives.
$25 Donation: Supports one participant for 1-week ( mentorship, and resources).
$50 Donation: Supports one participant for 2-weeks (more in-depth exposure to storytelling techniques and mentorship).
$125 Donation: Supports one participant for 1-month (comprehensive access to all program offerings, including workshops, mentorship, and storytelling tools, empowerment kits).
